چکیده

The parasitic effects in stranded, twisted, and Litz wire windings operating at high frequencies are studied. The skin and proximity effects tha t cause the winding parasitic resistance of an inductor t o increase with the operating frequency are considered. An expression for the ac resistance as a function of the operating frequency is given. The measured and calculated values of the inductor ac resistance and quality factor are plotted versus frequency and compared. The theoretical results were in good agreement with those experimentally measured.

New Line-Interactive UPS System with DSP-based Active Power-Line Conditioning - Power Electronics Specialists Conference, 1996. PESC '96 Record., 27th Annual IEEE

This paper presents a new line-interactive UPS (uninterruptible power supply) system with active power-line conditioning capability. This system uses one power electronic inverter to implement two functions: maintaining uninterruptible power for critical loads, and suppressing power-line harmonics. The system offers efficient and economical power conditioning. Experimental validation is given.

MODELING OF HIGH-POWER-FACTOR RECTIFIERS BASED ON SWITCHING CONVERTERS WITH NONLINEAR-CARRIER CONTRO - Power Electronics Specialists Conference, 1996. PESC '96 Record., 27th Annual IEEE

The paper presents unified modeling and analysis of high-power-factor rectifiers based on switching converters with nonlinear-carrier control (NLC). In NLC control, which offers simple, high-performance power-factor correction (PFC), the switch duty ratio is obtained by comparing a signal derived from the switch current with a periodic nonlinear carrier. A general expression is derived for the ...

A Multirate Digital Controller for an Electric Vehicle Battery Charger - Power Electronics Specialists Conference, 1996. PESC '96 Record., 27th Annual IEEE

This paper describes a power electronic system that, among other possibilities, can be used to charge electric vehicle batteries. A large-signal linear, multirate digital controller for the charging current permits the charger to track and deliver a desired current trajectory for a wide range of loads. This controller simultaneously ensures that the charger draws power from the electric utility...

A Simple Large-Signal Non-linear Model for Fast Simulation of Zero-Current- Switch Quasi-Resonant Co - Power Electronics Specialists Conference, 1996. PESC '96 Record., 27th Annual IEEE

A nonlinear model for zero-current-switch quasi-resonant-converters is proposed which can be derived easily using simple analytical techniques. It is readily accepted by MATLAB for analysis and simulation in fast speed. Simulations have shown its accuracy even for large-signal transient dynamics. The condition for zero-current switching is also identified from this model.

Fast Time-Domain Simulation by Waveform Relaxation Methods - Power Electronics Specialists Conference, 1996. PESC '96 Record., 27th Annual IEEE

Fast time-domuin simulation of power electronic systems by using waveform-relaration methods to reduce the simulation time is presented. Algorithms for circuit partitioning, time windowing, and simulation scheduling are developed. Feasibility and advantages of applications are demonstrated by simulation results of a series resonant converter and a zero-voltage-transition PWM boost converter. Th...
